The new Watertown High School is set to open to start the 2026-2027 school year.
Once open, it is expected to be the first high school in the United States to achieve both net-zero energy and LEED Platinum (v4.0/4.1) status. It features a vast geothermal well field and rooftop solar panels. Built on a compact 4-acre lot, the building is staggered from two to four stories and features a stunning central academic atrium that brings natural daylight into the lower levels.

The new Cunniff school opened in October 2021. The school is zero-net energy and currently serves 373 students.

The new Hosmer school opened in February 2022. The school is zero-net energy and currently serves 693 students. Watertown’s early childhood programming is also housed in this building as the Early Steps schools.

The like-new Lowell school opened in October 2023. The school currently serves 458 students. The project was a complete renovation and addition on the original historic 1926 school that sits atop a hill.
