Watertown student athletes have enjoyed success over the years at the league and state level. Each year, many teams qualify for the state tournaments. Notably, the field hockey program has won the state title 22 times and holds national records for an unbeaten streak of 184 games (2008-2017), and 41 consecutive shutouts (2022-2023).

In addition to a robust athletics program, there are many opportunities in WPS to engage with the arts. In 2025-2026, 105 students participated in 3 theater productions (2 high school and 1 middle school).
573 students participate in instrumental music lessons during the school day, for free. Additionally, 345 students sing in chorus.

There are a diverse selection of over 55 clubs at Watertown Middle and High School. Over 1,000 students participate in these clubs ranging from Robotics to Medical Club, and the Muslin Student Association to the Ping Pong Society.
Watertown Community Education also offers robust programming for elementary school children including before and after school programs that serve over 500 students with before school care, extended day in the afternoons, and courses for kids.
