2025-2026 General Program Information

The Extended Day Program is run by Watertown Community Education, a department of Watertown Public Schools (WPS).  This is an optional, fee-based program for WPS students in prekindergarten through grade 5.  There is an Extended Day Program location on-site at the Cunniff, Hosmer, and Lowell Elementary Schools.  The Extended Day Programs provide a safe, nurturing environment after school for students from 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM each day.  The Extended Day Programs are not academic programs.  These are social and play-based programs offering students a schedule of activities each day that includes a balance of structured and unstructured time.  The programs offer arts and crafts, movements activities, group-based activities that are both student- and teacher-led, and free playtime with a variety of toys and materials.  Students enrolled in the Extended Day Program will spend time outdoors daily, weather permitting.  The Program offers additional enrichments for enrolled students during conference days and early release days.

2025-2026 Tuition Rates & Payment Schedules

2025-2026 Before School and Extended Day Program Tuition Rates (click here to view the tuition rates)

  • The annual tuition is paid on a monthly basis and is broken down into 10-equal monthly payments.
  • The first month’s tuition, Payment #1 (for September) is due in advance to secure and confirm your student’s enrollment.  The due date for this payment is included in your student’s space offer email.
  • Tuition Payments #2-#10 (for October through June) are due in advance, on the 10th of the month each month for the upcoming month.  If the 10th falls on a day that school is not in session, payment is due on the school day preceding the 10th.
  • Since the tuition is broken down into 10-equal monthly tuition payments, the tuition amount remains the same each month, September through June, regardless of how many days the program actually runs each month.
  • Tuition will not be prorated due to absences, holidays, snow days, and/or any other days school is closed for any reason or a student is unable to attend.
  • Watertown Community Education does not offer scholarships or reduced rates based on income.  Child care vouchers are not accepted for these programs.
