Mathematics
Emily has a love for mathematics and pursues that interest with great passion. Driven by a fascination with complex numbers, she is constantly looking for connections between the various areas of mathematics which extend well beyond the content that is traditionally taught at the high school level. After attending the Mathematics Field Day at Boston University, Emily took it upon herself to determine algorithms for solutions to the Chaos Game. She is one of two students who successfully figured out the algorithms and even looked beyond the game for a deeper understanding of chaos and fractals. Emily's persistence and genuine interest in Calculus shows on a daily basis and continues to lead to a deep understanding of a complicated and beautiful area of mathematics. She has a thirst for knowledge that makes her a stand-out amongst her peers. Congratulations Emily, and keep up the good work. David Passeggio |
