Victoria is an excellent student in Accounting who always completes assigned work and earns outstanding test scores. Victoria has a bright future in business.

Mr. Luciano

The student of the month in English for October is Rose Souliotis. Rose models attentiveness, focus, and cooperation in her 9th grade class. She possesses a sterling work ethic and aims for excellence in all that she does. On a recent test, she scored the only 100. Fantastic work, Rose!

The ESL Department has chosen Sajid Khan as its October Student of the Month. Sajid came to Watertown from Pakistan at the end of the last school year. Although it was a very difficult time for him, he tried his best and was always kind. Since that time, Sajid has made remarkable progress. He has put great effort into his studies, and his improvement and abilities have greatly increased. Furthermore, Sajid is a polite, considerate, and generous student, helping other students whenever needed. We are proud to have Sajid as one of our ESL students.

Sajid Khan

Anne, a student in Food Services/Hospitality, always comes prepared for class, be it using the internet to work on the U.S. Regional Cuisine project or preparing the French Bread for the Raider Cafe. With her tremendous work ethic, Anne always goes the "extra mile" to assist other students or help to prep for the next class. Her work for the Raider Cafe was oustanding.

Ms. Johnson

Dylan Lindholm has been nominated Student of the Month for FAPA. Dylan has been with the String Program since 4th grade and is now one of the leaders in the WHS String Ensemble. Her dedication to the Ensemble and her excellent rehearsal attitude and approach are great example for younger members of the Ensemble. Dylan is always ready to do whatever is necessary to make each Ensemble concert a success.

Melina Kapotsis is an outstanding student of Italian. She is following and independent study course in Honors Level 4 Italian. Melina is comitted to excellence in language study.

Michael McDermott

Jara is gaining mastery level craftsmanship skills this year in Advanced Wood. She continues to perform at a very high level of quality. Jara is currently applying the final layers of finish to her Adirondack Chair project and is very excited about presenting the chair to her parents.

Emily has a love for mathematics and pursues that interest with great passion. Driven by a fascination with complex numbers, she is constantly looking for connections between the various areas of mathematics which extend well beyond the content that is traditionally taught at the high school level. After attending the Mathematics Field Day at Boston University, Emily took it upon herself to determine algorithms for solutions to the Chaos Game. She is one of two students who successfully figured out the algorithms and even looked beyond the game for a deeper understanding of chaos and fractals. Emily's persistence and genuine interest in Calculus shows on a daily basis and continues to lead to a deep understanding of a complicated and beautiful area of mathematics. She has a thirst for knowledge that makes her a stand-out amongst her peers.

David Passeggio

Student of the month for Multi-Media & Production is Kevin Phu. Kevin created an original song and video for the "I am What I Learn" video challenge by the Dept. of Education. His video is a top 10 finalisit in the national competion out of thousands of students across America. He is a hard worker and extremely talented. He is not afraid to collaborate and received editing help from James Dunoyer, which made his video beyond exceptional.

Vera Ventura

Alyssa Carlson, a freshman in Mrs. Connors' float period physical education class, has been chosen student of the month based on her exemplary performances in class. Her positive attitude, attendance, willingness to use time wisely, sense of responsibility, execution of learned physical skills and written knowledge of class materials, has allowed Alyssa to achieve at her potential. It is a pleasure to have Alyssa in class.

Leandro Franca has been a model student all year. He exhibits great class participation, asking good questions during class discussions, and he is always willing to help out other students who are having trouble. His excellent exam grades show that he works hard outside the classroom. Keep up the great work, Leandro!

The Social Studies Student of the Month is freshman Samantha McDonald.

"Sam" works tremendously hard in her US History class and those results pay off. She is among the top scorers on quizzes and tests and she is a constant volunteer during class discussions. She's not at all shy to ask questions and very often it is to her that classmates can look to for answers. Sam is conscientious, thoughtful, and diligent; in short, she is a tremendous role model for her classmates.
