ESL
The ESL Department nominates Ahmed Alnamous as its Student of the Month. Ahmed arrived from Syria this past Fall. Although he struggled at first to acculturate himself to the American school system, he has made a commitment to himself to succeed. Over the past several months, Ahmed has made significant progress in his writing, reading, and conversational abilities. He has really dedicated himself to doing each assignment in a well thought-out manner, to participating with good ideas and suggestions during class, and for turning in all his work in a timely manner. Ahmed constantly challenges himself and refuses to take the easy road. We are very happy to nominate Ahmed and we are proud of his advancement and good attitude. Sonia-Siran Tamakian |

Family & Consumer Science Tifani, a student in the Food Service/Hospitality class, has been doing a tremendous job this term. She was oustanding during the April 1st Raider Cafe, never asking if she could do anything, just stepping up to the plate and doing a job....be it serving the Focaccia, prepping the Stuffed Shells for service to the customers, or washing/drying the dishes. Hats off to Tifani! Ms. Johnson |

FAPA
Kristina and Oriana have, through their dedication to their craft, individually and collectively earned the title of Student(s) of the Month for March. Their consistency in rehearsals, leadership within their sections and commitment to improving their sight reading and perfecting their parts all serve as model expectations for the course. They have sought out additional opportunities, including the A Cappella choir, and applied the same work ethic with similar success. Dan Wulf |

Multi-Media & Production
Only a freshman, Gabe has already demonstrated tremendous skill as a video editor. Gabe seems to have "natural talent" that is not very common among novice editors. He clearly has an understanding of artistic timing when editing, which can only grow with more practice and dedication. I look forward to seeing Gabe's progress and hope his talent continues to flourish as he works on more advanced projects. Vera Ventura |

Physical Education
Stephanie Hennrikus, Junior: Physical Education/Project Adventure, Period 2 has been selected Student of the Month for March, 2010. During the month of March, Stephanie regularly demonstrated leadership skills by assisting other students. She assisted with setting up and taking down equipment and personally helping students learn. She participates fully with enthusiasm and effort (always). While participating in a climbing unit, I have confidence in having Stephanie lead small groups as she helps teach other students basic skills of climbing. Most often, Stephanie is one of the first students ready to participate in class as she is on time excited to be active. It is a plus, that her attendance is excellent. Stephanie was nominated for SOM by Ms. Ruseckas |
