Academic Assistance
This program is intended for both special and regular education students who require re-teaching, pre-teaching and more exposure to content area curriculum. This class is co-taught with one special education teacher and two content area teachers. As a part of this program, students receive progress reports on a regular basis. All special education students are enrolled in this class every other day for 42 minutes.
Learning Support Program
The learning support program is intended for students with significant deficits either cognitive, developmental or language based. Students in this program cannot meet grade level expectations and require a small group instructional setting for content area curriculum. This program runs the school store and coffee by kids. Additionally, students participate in several adventure trips throughout the year to enhance team building and self-confidence. Based upon individual student needs, IEP Teams determine if a student will benefit from inclusion in a content area for social interactions or content enrichment.
Integrated Emotional Support Program (IESP)
The integrated emotional support program is open to regular and special education student who have been identified with an emotional disability or behavior challenges. The program has two separate domains. One domain is a stabilization and respite program for students who have been discharged from a hospitalization or students who are having extreme difficulty participating in their regular academic schedule. The second domain is for students who require frequent or daily check-ins with the school social worker or other support staff around their emotional needs and behavior. This is not a self-contained program and students do not receive instruction in this program unless the IEP Team approves it. All students referred to counseling services with a counseling goal will be eligible for a referral to IESP.
