Foreign Language Program
The Foreign Language Department course offerings have been developed to encourage our students to become lifelong learners in today's global society. Along with learning a foreign language, students will acquire knowledge of the contributions of diverse cultures while broadening their awareness of themselves and the world. Recent research indicates that English vocabulary, reading skills, self-concept, cultural enrichment, creativity and communication skills are significantly improved by the study of foreign languages.
The Foreign Language Department has chosen Araz Chiloyan for its April, 2011 Student of the Month. Araz is an excellent student of Spanish. She is motivated to learn the nuances of the language and is always diligent when given assignments in class or at home. Araz enjoys speaking in Spanish and excels in converational skills. She is a team leader when working with her peers and is very helpful in explaining material to other students. Araz is an asset to the Foreign language classroom.
