The Sound of Music when Living in the British Colonies
George Frideric Handel: - Handel composed during the baroque period, He lived during the years 1685 to 1759. When he began composing, Williamsburg became the capital city of the Virginia colony. At the end of his lifetime, the French and Indian War was coming to an end. Three of his compositions are listed below for you to hear.

During the period, the Dutch were beginning to settle the New Amsterdam colony; and the English Puritans were settling the Massachusetts Bay Colony. In 1664, the British captured New Amsterdam, and it became the New York colony.
